Coaching Mindset & Business

What do highly successful entrepreneurs do at the weekend?

Follow the three things super successful entrepreneurs do at the weekend and never feel the remorse of Monday morning again!

They exercise

Rather than lounging in your pajamas for the whole weekend saying to themselves they deserve it(!) they get up and exercise – whether this is continuing the morning jog that you do during the week or meeting up with friends for a tennis match – being active will increase their natural endorphins and mean come Monday you will be feeling full of energy.

They switch off

FOMO is real but the beauty of switching off is though it may be hard, to begin with you, it is amazing how quickly you get used to not be connected and start to enjoy the here and now.

They make time for themselves

If you’ve been killing it in the office during the week, the weekend can be your time to catch up with friends and family.  Though this is super important make sure you keep some time for yourself to sit in stillness. Keep your morning meditation routine going or combine it with your solo run – to be completely at one with nature without any distractions.

What else do you think you can do on the weekend to make sure you are feeling 100% come Monday for both yourself and your business?

The 5 senses meditation checklist

Here are the tips that help us create a meditation space that serves each of the five senses…

Smell

Traditionally incense is used though you could burn your favourite candle or a diffuser filled with your favourite drops of essential oil. You could even use fresh flowers with scent to bring in the natural smell of nature.

Touch

Mala beads can be used as a touchstone or a crystal that fits with your intention. Touch is an amazing way to focus during your meditation and is often one of the senses that is missed.

Taste

Make sure to have a clean mouth with no sour taste. A cup of water or a herbal tea would be a nice addition to your practice. The ritualistic process of making a special tea can also signal to your brain and body that you are preparing yourself for meditation.

 Sound

Find a calming playlist on Spotify, a guided meditation on YouTube or even do it yourself with a Tibetan singing bowl if you know how. It will take your meditation to the next level of consciousness.

The most important thing is for each sense to feel good to you. It is a very personal process and we would recommend trying different options until you find what is right for you and your meditation practise.

In what ways do you create a space to meditate in?

Our top #10 tips for working from home

Whether you already work from home or about to start, follow our top 10 tips to help you stay productive!

Set up your workspace

Choose a corner of your house that you can dedicate to your work – if you’re lucky enough to have a home office, how great for you! If not, choose a location that has good natural light and a comfortable place to sit and work away from distractions.

Turn off your phone

There is a difference to using your phone for work and aimlessly scrolling through Instagram.  Intentionally starting your day without social media and focusing on the task at hand sets you up for the day. Give yourself specific times in the day you can check in otherwise – keep on aeroplane mode!

Choose your working hours

And choose your breaks! Whether you’re an early bird starting at 6 am or a night owl that really gets going after 6 pm intentionally choose your hours and when you will break. You will find yourself being far more productive within the confines of the time.

Don’t spend all week alone

Treat yourself to a morning a week in your favorite coffee shop or spend the day working with your freelance friend. You will find yourself much more inspired by a change of scenery!

Have a morning routine

Whether this is starting your day with meditation, exercise or 30 minutes of journaling, having a morning routine that you look forward to will mentally set yourself up for the day. I have a routine where I will wipe down my desk, open the windows and make myself a pot of coffee before starting work. This signals to my brain that it’s time to get down to it!

Take breaks

When you are working on your own and you get into the zone, the time can fly past and you realise you have been working straight for 6 hours! On the other hand, with no boss to check in on you, it can be very easy to be scrolling through your phone while you are meant to be working. Having a dedicated break allows you to put your phone on silent and focus for an hour knowing you will have 10 minutes of guilt-free Instagram time!

Set goals

Set daily, weekly, monthly and yearly goals – this will help you focus yourself and keep you motivated on a day to day basis.

Spend money on your business

It can be tempting to save every cost you can including your working environment but making sure you have a good computer and comfortable place to work will pay dividends in your productivity and enthusiasm for work in the long term.

Schedule Me time

Whether this means a no phone / no work Sunday or turning off for the day at 6 pm sharp – make sure you commit to You time. Don’t work from bed on a Sunday and don’t reply to emails while sitting down for dinner with your OH. Be strict with yourself as long term this will really start to affect your happiness.

Enjoy it!

Lastly, enjoy the freedom and comfort of working from home! That feeling on a Monday morning knowing you used to be stuck in rush hour traffic as you sit down to work with your freshly brewed coffee with your puppy by your side!

How to be punctual

With a few simple time-saving tips, you will be able to show up on time in both your professional and personal life – you won’t look back to those days of waking up late, grabbing a piece of toast and running out the door half-dressed to make it for the bus!

Set your alarm 15 minutes earlier

This starts the night before. Set your intention on giving yourself more time in the morning and get into bed half an hour earlier. Without stating the obvious setting your alarm at least 15 minutes earlier will give you the space to breathe and enjoy a morning routine rather than 30 minutes to be up and out of the door in!

If you are feeling brave try setting for an hour earlier – it has been a life changing practise for myself – I take the time to meditate and either run or practise yoga, sit down for a proper breakfast and set my intentions for the day. It is part of the day I most look forward to!

Uniform

Again, the night before – lay out your outfit the next day. Make sure anything that needs to be ironed has been. For some reason, it takes less time in the evening to choose your outfit than in the morning – one of the strange facts of life!

One place

Keep all of the items you need for the day in one place. Whether this is a purse organiser or a tray by the door it will stop you running around the house looking for car keys!

Day of prep

Taking a day out of your week to do all of your laundry for the coming week and prepping meals will change your life – put the washing machine on and start cooking! Finish with ironing all your clothes. If you want to be super organised outfit plan for the week and hang the outfits together. You will be so thankful come Monday afternoon knowing you have a delicious meal ready and waiting for you!

Bath / Shower the night before

Finishing the day with a hot bath or shower will save you precious minutes in the morning and also be a lovely way to unwind at the end of the day. Try adding lavender essential oil to the bath or in the shower.

Prep your breakfast/coffee

Whether you’re a blueberry chia pudding kinda girl or a black coffee and nut bar – get it ready the night before! When I know I am going to be really tight on time I will even get the coffee pot ready and grind the beans the night before so all it takes is for me to boil water in the morning and I am ready to go.

As you can see most of these tips start with the intention the night before. The key here is intention!

What makes a world class coach?

There are numerous factors that come into a great coach but here are six characteristics we value highly:

Knowledge

Your coaching should be based on a solid foundation of knowledge. Make sure you learn with the best coaching school you can afford. Invest in yourself. Find your own coach. Practice what you preach!

Communication

It is not enough to just have the knowledge. You need to be able to clearly communicate to your clients, adapting to the way they are best able to understand your message. This includes both in your verbal sessions and in your writing communication with the client and on social media.

Empathy

…is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. A key skill for you to be able to create a meaningful connection with your clients.

Listen

A rule of thumb to follow is to listen twice as much as you speak. Often clients have the answer to their problems within themselves and through talking to a good listener it allows them the space to discover this.

Community

Surround yourself with a tribe of high vibe women. Those that lift you up and want you to achieve. They say we are the sum of the five people we spend the most time with – keep this in mind!

Learning

Read 30 minutes a day, stay up to date with your qualifications, partake in new online courses. Commit to your continued education. This will keep you at the top of your game, keeping your brain supple and your clients happy!

Why you have to raise your money vibrations

Let’s put the record straight about raising your vibration and trusting that The Universe will provide for you when it comes to MONEY

YES spending money on things that make you FEEL wealthy can open you up to more abundance…but only if that spending FEELS GOOD

YES spending money freely can help show The Universe that you trust it will come back…but only to the extent you fully believe this.

If spending is just a short term thrill that after leaves you feeling fearful or guilty or even more worried about money….then you need to check in with yourself as to whether your spending is financially responsible or not.

Because let’s get one thing clear: Acting AS IF you are already wealthy does not equal financial IRRESPONSIBILITY.

You have to spend in a way that still respects your financial boundaries.

You have to spend in a way that FEELS GOOD rather than puts you into a place of more fear and more lack.

Whilst I don’t advocate squirrelling money away and know you need to be able to let money come in and out of your life as easily as your breath, but then you HAVE TO match that spending with the belief that more is to come. Spending MUST be followed with positive feelings that you can maintain.

There is LOTS we can do to feel wealthy without going on crazy shopping sprees. Invest in yourself YES but there has to be balance.

How to awaken our feminine energy

When we awaken our feminine, we align ourselves with what naturally feels good to us, rather than leaning too far into the masculine energy upon which much of society is based.

And when we align ourselves with what feels good, we shift into receiving mode and can manifest our desires with far greater ease and flow.

3 things you can do right now to tune into your feminine energy are:

1.Allow yourself to FEEL

Emotional connection and release is often portrayed as weak in masculine society.

A disconnection from the divine feminine essence usually equates with a disconnection to our emotions.

To unlock divine feminine energies, you need to access, fully feel, and release your feelings without judgement.

To feel into your emotions fully, requires a safe space which is based on trust and boundaries, such as working with a coach or joining a sacred women’s circle.

2. Honor your intuition.

In our action led lives, it’s easy to get caught up in the doing, often without even thinking about what we are doing or why we are doing it.

Tuning into your intuition more often allows you to be guided to do things in a much more intentional way, whilst choosing to act in a way that feels aligned rather than just taking action for taking action’s sake.

3. Allow space for creativity.

Give time to create purely for the joy of creation. So often we are attached to the results of our actions and are led by  a goal driven masculine energy.

But tapping into your creativity and giving time to take action that feels inspired awakens the feminine and brings more ease and flow into your life.

It could be creating something within your business “just because” or taking up a new creative hobby.

Allow yourself this freedom of expression.

Our favourite friendship quotes

So often when we are trying to make it in business, all our energy and time is spent on it and friendship can take the back seat.

Having great friends to share your life with is a gift like no other.

Whether your spending your weekend with your BF or not – here is a selection of our favourite friendship quotes for you to enjoy:

Growing apart doesn’t change the fact that for a long time we grew side by side; our roots will always be tangled. I’m glad for that – Ally Condie

I would rather walk with a friend in the dark than alone in the light – Helen Keller

A friend is one that know you as you are, understands where you have been, accepts what you have become, and still, gently allows you to grow – William Shakespeare

True friendship comes when silence between two people is comfortable – David Tyson

Don’t walk behind me; I may not lead. Don’t walk in from of my; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend – Albert Camus

Lots of people want to ride with you in the limo, but what you want is someone who will take the bus with you when the limo breaks down – Oprah Winfrey

A good friend is a connection to life – a tie to the past, a road to the future, the key to sanity in a totally insane world – Lois Wyse

The most beautiful discovery true friends make is that they can grow separately without growing apart – Elisabeth Foley

Sometimes being a friend means mastering the art of timing. There is a time for silence. A time to let go and allow people to hurl themselves into their own destiny. And a time to prepare to pick up the pieces when it’s all over – Octavia Butler

Friends are the siblings God never gave us – Menicus

Some people arrive and make such a beautiful impact on your life, you can barely remember what life was like without them – Anna Taylor

Things are never quite as scary when you have a best friend – Bill Watterson

Have these quotes made you think of a specific friend? Why not share one with them – as Anna Cummins said “Do not save your loving speeches for your friends till they are dead; do not write them on their tombstones, speak them rather now instead”

Empower yourself through yoga

Yoga can empower you in many different ways. Here are four of our favourites:

1# Commitment to growth

Yoga challenges you both mentally and physically. Especially in the beginning you may find certain poses hard and have little stamina holding, however with commitment to a daily practise you will not only see an improvement in your fitness but also in your mind.

The mind is a muscle that needs to be exercised daily and the commitment to yoga will show in other aspects of your life. You will find yourself enjoying harder tasks at work and in general, seeing each one as an opportunity to grow and develop.

2# Community minded with others and the world at large

There will always be a place for a quiet practise on your own however it is also worth going to regular yoga classes. Here you will find a like-minded community of people you can connect with and who will help you grow further. In turn yoga connects you to the larger community and the planet – how we are all connected and how important it is to look after the earth in our daily actions.

3# Self-confidence

When you first begin there will be poses you can’t do. However, with practise you will be able to master them. From this you will gain a deep sense of your own ability and self-confidence which ultimately leads to your self-worth.

Power poses, those poses which lengthen and strengthen your body such as warrior, tree and mountain pose will make you stand taller, filling the space and in turn make you look and feel more confident as well!

4# Finding yourself

Whether you are starting your own business or scaling an existing one, we get pulled in a million different directions throughout the day.

Giving yourself the gift of daily yoga is allowing space to breathe and be at one with yourself. The practise allows you to not only keep your body in good physical health (essential for those long hours) but gives you the power to see what is and isn’t important and helps you to find and stay on the right path both in your personal and business life.

There are so many other amazing reasons to practise yoga, what are yours?
